STANLEY INTERNMENT CAMP. HONG KONG,
COPY OF ORIGINAL
125
The following extract from a recent minute by the Hon.
Colonial Secretary (now Sir. Franklin Gimson, Governor of
Singapore) in connection with a complaint from a subordinate
officer against another (senior officer) is circulated for
the information of all ranks on the point of discipline :-
traditional
of the Hong Kong
** I understand that it was the/practice
Police Force to require that Junior members in addressing
their seniors should adopt some mark of respect due to the
seniority of rank. In Stanley the Hong Kong Police Force is
still regarded as being administered under those conditions
which were observed prior to internment as far as internment
permits. The contracts of employment of members of the
Police Force with the British Government are still in
operation and it is confidently expected that the terms of
these contracts, especially in relation to pay, will be
fulfilled.
